A scarce, shy and elusive mysterious bird, walks like a Rail, taking slow deliberate steps and jerking its head forward at each step. When disturbed, it runs rather than flies away.
White-necked Babbler
A scarce, shy and secretive slope specialist in primary lowland dipterocarp and hill forests. Often foliage-gleaning insects in thick vegetation at the lower storey of the forest in small parties.
Hook-billed Bulbul
An uncommon specialist of peat swamp or kerangas forests. The white tail spots and supercilium make them easy to distinguish from other Bulbuls.
Jambu Fruit Dove
Widespread but a very scarce nomad in primary and secondary forests up to 1800m. Strictly frugivorous and often solitary or in pairs.
